ศิลปะที่เกิดขึ้นในยุคปัจจุบัน ซึ่งสะท้อนถึงแนวคิด วิถีชีวิต และสังคมในช่วงเวลาที่ศิลปินสร้างผลงานนั้น ๆ ความสำคัญของศิลปะร่วมสมัยคือการแสดงออกถึงความคิดสร้างสรรค์ที่ไร้ขีดจำกัด โดยไม่ยึดติดกับรูปแบบเดิม ๆ และมีการนำเทคโนโลยีและสื่อใหม่ ๆ เข้ามามีบทบาทในการสร้างสรรค์ผลงาน ซึ่งทำให้เกิดความหลากหลายทั้งในด้านสื่อ เทคนิค และแนวคิด โดย ดร.ชญานุตม์ ศิลปศาสตร์
